It’s wonderfully amazing how some people come to the place of choosing to sponsor a Watoto child.
It may be through attending a Watoto Children’s Choir concert, visiting our watoto.com website, or through a number of other exposures to our ministry. With this in mind, something unique took place on July 12, 2013.
Choir 60 had just finished their cross-country Canadian tour and were preparing to return back to Uganda. The day before their scheduled flight they enjoyed a meal in a local Toronto area restaurant.
As is their custom, following their meal they offered to sing a song for the restaurant staff. It’s always quite a sight to see staff members standing before a choir of little strangers who invade their hearts with God’s love as they sing a song of blessing over them. Most often at the same time, inquisitive restaurant customers choose to put their meal on hold for a moment so that they can to take in the experience as well. It’s a guarantee that many hearts are touched when this takes place.
On this particular day there was a married couple that was eating in the restaurant. They had noticed the choir as they ate and certainly while they sang to the staff. This caused a curiosity to grow within them which led them to follow the choir out into the parking lot upon their departure. They spoke to some of the Watoto leaders and the result was that they decided to sponsor a child right there in the middle of the parking lot. That day a child’s story was changed. Who’s story will you change?
